Craft Your 'D.A.N. Chapter'

D.A.N. is a grassroots cause that provides students the opportunity to develop a student organization that is customized to the needs of their local community. Student involvement ranges from elementary schools to colleges and universities. These 'D.A.N. Chapters' (aka. student organizations) are established at educational institutions as members of the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, Do Anything Nice (D.A.N.). [Our History]

Each prospective chapter completes a quick and easy registration process. Schools may register for either 'full' or 'affiliate' status.

  • Full Status: found an original Do Anything Nice chapter at your school with the help of four friends, and a faculty advisor.
  • Affiliate Status: incorporate Do Anything Nice into an already existing student organization.

Our 'Little' History

During Fall of 2001 in the cozy town of Verona, NJ, the student club Do Anything Nice (D.A.N.) was founded. In the town's local school, Verona High School, a group of senior students, lead by Tim Ryan joined together to form the organization known as D.A.N.

Allison Frazier, an English teacher, was the first faculty advisor of D.A.N. She graciously opened her classroom as the first home of Do Anything Nice. The journey of D.A.N. began with nearly a hundred prospective members. They crowed into the tiny classroom after they had experience the 1st act of kindness; a covert mission of placing candy in each student's locker during the evening hours. A single note was left behind, which read, "D.A.N. was here".

From 2001 till 2004 the clubs leadership continued with success. It was tradition that the current leaders pass the club off to two upcoming senior students. In September 2005 former president of D.A.N. at Verona High School, Michael Unis, established a chapter at Ithaca College, located in Ithaca, NY. At Ithaca College the club continued to open new divisions and expand its horizons.
